The electoral district of Caulfield is one of 88 electoral districts the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located in the inner-south eastern suburbs of Melbourne between the districts of Prahran, Malvern, Oakleigh, Bentleigh, Brighton and Albert Park. Caulfield sits in the Federal districts of Melbourne Ports and Goldstein.
 
It covers the suburbs of Caulfield, Caulfield North, Caulfield South, Caulfield East, Elsternwick, Gardenvale, Ripponlea and Balaclava and parts of St Kilda East, St Kilda, Glenhuntly and Ormond.
 
At the last census there were 53,701 people living in Caulfield. The average age was 37, exactly in line with the average age across Australia. More children are educated in private schools than any other electorate in the state, and 43% have tertiary qualifications, compared to 24% across Victoria.
 
The electorate has a high concentration of infrastructure, including 30 school campuses, 6 train stations and numerous shopping strips. It is home to the Caulfield Campus of Monash University, and the Caulfield racecourse which hosts 20 races each year including the Caulfield Cup and Caulfield Guineas.
